Mogul X Pulse Methodology

The client health score built by a CX strategist.

Not a vague engagement metric. Not a recycled NPS hack. A relationship intelligence framework built from years of CX consulting work — turned into a six-signal scoring system that runs inside your business.

Why This Exists
Every CRM tracks contacts. None of them tracked relationships. So I built one that does.
For years I ran Mogul to Mogul Consulting as a CX strategist — helping service providers turn one-off clients into repeat customers and active referrers. The methodology worked. The problem was that no software actually managed the relationship itself. Every CRM tracked contacts. Every project tool tracked tasks. Nothing watched the actual health of the connection between you and your client. Mogul X Pulse is the first tool to do exactly that — built into Mogul X OS, running on your own WordPress site.
The Six Signals

What Pulse watches.

Each signal is a behavioral pattern that, in CX research, predicts whether a client renews, refers, or quietly disappears. Pulse tracks all six in real time and rolls them into a single score per client.

SIGNAL 01
Touch Frequency
How often you stay in contact

Tracks the cadence of meaningful interactions — emails, calls, portal logins, meetings, messages. The system learns each client’s natural rhythm and flags when too much time has passed without contact.

Pulse alerts when 21+ days pass with no contact for a high-value client. Or when a client who used to log in weekly stops showing up.
SIGNAL 02
Project Momentum
Whether work is moving forward

Reads from Project Portal: are milestones being approved on time? Are files getting uploaded and signed off? Are payments staying current? Stalled projects predict stalled relationships.

Pulse alerts when A milestone has been pending approval for 14+ days. Or a project hasn’t had any activity in 30 days when it’s supposed to be active.
SIGNAL 03
Payment Behavior
How money is flowing

Watches Stripe activity: are invoices being paid on time? Are there disputes? Are autopay subscriptions failing? Money is one of the loudest relationship signals there is — and one most service providers miss until it’s a crisis.

Pulse alerts when An invoice goes 7+ days past due. Or a client downgrades a subscription. Or a payment fails twice in a row.
SIGNAL 04
Engagement Quality
Are they actually engaged?

Tracks whether the client is opening emails, reading project updates, responding to messages, completing onboarding steps. Disengagement is the earliest warning sign of churn.

Pulse alerts when Email open rate drops below 30%. Or messages go unanswered for 5+ days. Or onboarding steps stall mid-flow.
SIGNAL 05
Referral Activity
Are they sending you business?

Pulls from Referral Circle Hub: is this client sending referrals? Have they been recently? Active referrers are your healthiest clients — and they need different care than passive ones.

Pulse alerts when A referrer sends a new lead (so you can thank them). Or a former active referrer hasn’t sent anyone in 90+ days.
SIGNAL 06
Community Presence
Are they participating in your world?

Reads from The Boardroom: are they showing up to events? Posting in discussions? Attending live sessions? Community engagement compounds retention. Disappearing from your community is often a leading indicator they’re disappearing from your business.

Pulse alerts when A member misses 3+ events in a row. Or stops posting after being active. Or unsubscribes from a Boardroom space.
The Score

Six signals. One number.

Pulse rolls all six signals into a single 0–100 health score per client, color-coded and trended over time. So you can scan your entire client list at a glance and know exactly who needs your attention.

0 – 50
51 – 75
76 – 100
Red Zone
Multiple signals weak. Client at risk of churn or has already disengaged.
Watch List
Some signals slipping. Time to reach out before it gets worse.
Healthy
Active, engaged, paying, advocating. Your sweet spot.
How It Works

From signal to action.

Pulse doesn’t just score — it tells you what to do next. Every alert comes with a recommended action, drawn from the same CX playbook the score is built on.

01
Pulse watches every interaction across every Mogul X app
Project Portal, Command Center X, Referral Circle, The Boardroom, Stripe, your email — Pulse reads the data flowing through all of them. You don’t have to manually log anything.
02
Each interaction updates one or more of the six signals
An email reply boosts Touch Frequency. A late invoice drops Payment Behavior. A new referral spikes Referral Activity. Signals weight differently based on client tier and recency.
03
The six signals roll into a single health score
A weighted composite that prioritizes the signals most predictive of relationship outcomes. Touch frequency and engagement matter more than community presence. Weighting is built into the methodology, not configurable, so it stays consistent across all your clients.
04
Trends are tracked over time
Pulse stores a rolling history. So you don’t just see a score — you see whether it’s improving, holding, or sliding. Trajectory matters more than the snapshot.
05
Alerts trigger when a score crosses a threshold
Drops below 75? Pulse flags Watch List status. Below 50? Red Zone alert with recommended actions: send a check-in, schedule a call, send a gift, escalate to a partner. Each alert has a “what to do next” attached — pulled from the CX playbook.
06
Actions feed back into the loop
When you take a recommended action — log a call, send a gift, schedule a check-in — Pulse records it as a positive signal. The score updates. The relationship gets stronger. The system learns what works for each client.
Why This Matters

What Pulse actually changes.

01
You stop losing clients you didn’t know you were losing

Most service providers find out a client is unhappy when they cancel. By then, it’s too late. Pulse catches the slip 60–90 days earlier — when there’s still time to repair.

02
Your best clients get more attention, not less

Ironically, most service providers spend the most time on their loudest, least-healthy clients. Pulse surfaces the quiet active referrers and high-value loyalists who deserve your time — and prompts you to reach out.

03
Your team operates with the same intelligence you do

Without Pulse, only you (the founder) have a sense of which clients are doing well. With Pulse, your team sees the same scores and knows who to prioritize without you telling them.

04
You build a referral engine on autopilot

Pulse identifies your active referrers and triggers thank-you actions automatically. The clients who refer most get cared for most — which makes them refer more. Compound effect.

Pulse is included in Mogul X OS.

Pulse is one of six selectable apps in Mogul X OS Pick 3 ($3,333 lifetime), and is automatically included in Full Suite ($5,555 lifetime). Founding Access bundles all 8 apps for life — and it closes when filled.
